Since it doesn’t have an engine, how does it get around?
All Kombi Kiosks come with a powder-coated steel frame that has four tie down points and two winch points. This enables transport, loading and offloading using a standard car trailer or flat-bed tow truck. As such, the Kombi Kiosk is designed to be positioned in a semi-fixed location that does not require frequent transport, such as a shopping centre, hospitality premises or food venue.
Ultimately though, we are working towards developing a Kombi Kiosk that has a removable drawbar which connects straight to a standard tow ball. This will allow the kiosk to be towed like a normal trailer. So stay tuned!
Upon delivery, how is it positioned?
When it comes to positioning it, we offer two innovative options.
The first option allows it to be moved around on soft surfaces using real rubber tyres that are controlled with a plug in remote, a powerful low gear electric motor, and steering actuators. This provides great convenience, and it's an impressive sight to see (videos to follow soon).
The second option is not as impressive, but it provides tremendous flexibility when it comes to manoeuvring it into tight spaces. This option allows it to be pushed around by hand on hard surfaces using four 500kg castor wheels which all swivel 360 degrees. Once it is in position, the castors are hidden behind a rubber skirt and a set of fibreglass wheels are attached to the frame (see photos).
How easy is it to open the Kombi Kiosk up for business?
It’s super easy! With the push of a button, it takes about 30 second to lift the entire roof. From there you unlock the door to hop in and flick on the 12-volt LED lights. Simply fold down the servery window after removing two holding pins and position the wooden servery benchtop. Make sure your 40L water tank is full and that the 40L drainage tank is properly connected underneath the carriage and you’re all set for action.
Does the Kombi Kiosk work off grid?
To power the refrigerators and any additional food-prep equipment required, our standard design relies on direct connection to either a mains electricity supply or a generator. The Kombi Kiosk is also fitted with a 240-volt battery charger that is permanently connected to a deep cycle battery (which powers the roof actuators, water pump, LED lights and the stereo). However, if you don’t require a significant amount of wattage to run your operation, you also have the option to upgrade the 12-volt system by adding a solar panel and solar charge controller.
Can I customise my Kombi Kiosk?
Please see the specifications to determine what features come standard and what the optional upgrades are. We can make some minor adjustments to the fitout but these require pre-approval.
Can the Kombi Kiosk be wrapped in any exterior colour or graphic design?
As standard, you choose the colour scheme for the bottom half of the Kombi Kiosk. We recommend that you keep the top half white and that you position a round logo in the circular nose badge. If you prefer something more elaborate, the wrappers that we work with have over 30 years of combined experience so they can execute any vision and offer a fully customised design.
What type of warranty does the Kombi Kiosk come with?
Every new Kombi Kiosk comes with a 24-month warranty on all componentry that we manufacture; a promise that your kiosk is free from workmanship or material defects. To further demonstrate the world class quality of our work, we offer a 10-year structural warranty on the fibreglass itself.
The composite materials used in body will never rust. The exterior is nearly impossible to dent. And since the internal fitout is almost entirely stainless steel, with minimal upkeep, an investment into a Kombi Kiosk is one that will withstand the test of time.
What skills do I need to run a Kombi Kiosk?
There are no prerequisites for operating a Kombi Kiosk however, experience in running a business, sales, or marketing is an asset for any entrepreneur. We believe that the most successful Kombi Kiosks will be run by fun, friendly, creative people who have a passion for building and owning a business.
